Highland Childrens Group
Immersion Terms

When booking this Experience, you acknowledge the following:

  • Age Requirements: All attendees in your party must be at least 5 years of age. Our bovine friends can be easily startled by the excitement and curiosity of younger children. For everyone’s safety and to ensure a positive experience, we believe our activities are best suited for older children who can follow clear directions and demonstrate an understanding of personal space and gentleness. It is important to emphasize with your group to please refrain from chasing or making loud noises, as this can cause our beloved Highlands to flee or kick. Our goal is to create an educational and enjoyable atmosphere for all!

  • Physical Requirements: All attendees must be capable of walking on sloping and hilly terrain and should wear appropriate closed-toe footwear. We recommend dressing comfortably, keeping in mind that you may be navigating through taller grass and encountering various farm elements along the way.

  • Farm Environment: Please remember that you are booking an experience on a working farm. Flies, unique smells, and the natural occurrences of animal behavior may happen during your visit. Our Highlands may slobber, relieve themselves, and proudly display their anatomy. In our pastures, there’s no shame—just the joys of farm life! It is important to note that children may ask questions regarding the anatomy or actions of our animals, we believe in transparent and honest educational conversation!

  • Restroom Reminder: We advise using the restroom prior to your arrival to maximize your time during the experience. Visits will start promptly at the designated time, and late arrivals will not extend the scheduled experience. A portable restroom is available to our participants, as well as a handwashing station in our barn. If you have a younger group that is unable to attend the restroom on their own, it is advised to ensure you have a second chaperone to help assist so that the experience can progress uninterrupted.

  • All participants must have a signed waiver by a parent/guardian. All release of liability waivers must be submitted prior to arrival, and no individual without said waiver may participate in the session.

You are booking an experience, which is specifically tailored for educational interactions with our Highlands. We do our best to ensure an excellent experience, but under no circumstances will we tolerate inappropriate or unsafe behavior. We reserve the right to excuse a participant who demonstrates a lack of respect for our animals or farm. (ie. hitting, throwing objects at our animals, yelling, pulling hair, chasing, or any behavior that causes them discomfort, climbing equipment, fences, etc.)
