The Sterling Greenhouse Reserve Picnic Terms and Acknowledgement

​When booking a Greenhouse Reserve Picnic at The Sterling Greenhouse, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Adult-Only Experience

• Our Greenhouse Reserve Picnics are designed as a peaceful, elevated experience for adults. All guests must be 18 years of age or older. We kindly ask that no children or infants accompany your reservation.

• Caring for the Greenhouse

• The Sterling Greenhouse has been thoughtfully curated with carefully selected furnishings, décor, live plants, and seasonal displays to create a beautiful experience for every guest.

• We ask that you please:

• Treat all furniture, décor, plants, and accessories with care.

• Leave all décor and furnishings where they have been placed unless otherwise instructed.

• Refrain from standing on furniture or placing feet on upholstered pieces.

• Report any accidental damage to a member of our farm.

• Guests are financially responsible for any damage caused by themselves or members of their party beyond normal wear and tear.

• Doors, Windows & Climate Control

• To help preserve the greenhouse environment and protect our plants and furnishings, please do not open or prop open any windows or exterior doors unless instructed by a member of our team.

• The greenhouse temperature and ventilation are carefully managed throughout the day - but our space is not climate controlled. We will make every effort to provide a comfortable environment, but guests should dress weather appropriately.

• Respecting the Property

• The Sterling Greenhouse is located on a working farm. While your picnic takes place in a private greenhouse setting, you may encounter livestock, wildlife, insects, farm equipment, and other natural elements during your visit. Please remain within designated guest areas and do not enter fenced pastures, barns, or other restricted areas unless accompanied by a member of our team.

• Food & Beverage

• Guests are welcome to bring food and beverages of their choosing. Please dispose of trash in the provided receptacles and leave the greenhouse in the same beautiful condition in which you found it. PLEASE DO NOT FEED YOUR FOOD TO OUR ANIMALS.

• Restroom

• Sterling Hills Farm has a restroom available at its barn. Please note this is a short walking distance from the Greenhouse.

• Smoking & Open Flames

• There is no smoking, vaping, recreational drug use, candles, sparklers, fireworks, or open flames permitted anywhere on the property. Candles provided by and lit by Sterling Hills Farm are the only open flame permitted. As this is private property, we reserve the right to end your reservation and ask any guest violating this policy to leave without refund.

• Pets

• Pets are not permitted on the property.

• Weather

• Our greenhouse allows you to enjoy the beauty of every season while remaining sheltered from the elements. In the rare event that severe weather or unsafe conditions affect your reservation, The Sterling Greenhouse reserves the right to reschedule your picnic.

• Photography

• Casual photos taken during your reservation are welcome and encouraged.

• Commercial photography sessions or professional photo shoots require prior approval and may be subject to separate booking requirements.

• Respect for the Experience

• Our goal is to provide every guest with a peaceful, relaxing, luxury experience. We kindly ask that all guests be respectful of the property, maintain appropriate noise levels, and help preserve the tranquil atmosphere for other visitors.

• Acknowledgement

• By completing your reservation, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these terms and understand that you are responsible for yourself, your guests, and any damage caused during your visit.

• The Sterling Greenhouse reserves the right to refuse service or end a reservation without refund if these terms are violated or if guest conduct is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or damaging to the property.

"Under Virginia law, there is no liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity."
